I’ll admit it — I am not the most fashionable person on campus. I’m not. I love fashion a lot, I really do, and when my bank account lets me, Vogue magazine goes in my basket. So, in January, I challenged myself to try and dress up more at uni for one week.
Day One
For my first day back at uni for term two I had a dissertation lecture (which honestly caused a huge amount of stress that I didn’t really want nor need). I tried to layer a bit more rather than chuck on a jumper and hope for the best. I’ve started wearing jeans that are a little on the less fitted side because there are not enough hours in the day to put on skinny jeans. You can find this pair of jeans here (also Unidays does 20% for Levi so keep that in mind!). I got the shirt a long time ago, but I just browsed the men’s section on ASOS at the time of purchase. The little jumper was recent from Urban Outfitters, a shop that has cute clothes, but ultimately one of the consequences of shopping there is that you have to take out a separate loan to buy a pair of socks. I’ve also recently got the same pair of shoes I’ve owned previously but had to chuck them out because of the sheer number of holes in them.

Day Two
Day Two included a little day to night outfit change (and by that, my jumper came off and I had a different top on underneath). from where I went from running a Chorus session to going down to games room. The jeans and shoes were exactly the same from the day before. The red jumper was bought a good five years ago, but you can find the brand here that have loads of similar cute jumpers. The cute little top featured in Games Room is the increasingly popular Josie top from Urban outfitters. I can’t actually find the one I’m wearing, but there are many variations in colours and patterns online.

Day Three
Okay, so day three was my first 9am of this term and it was not a good experience because my bus was late. Therefore, today featured a long-sleeved denim boiler suit. This jumpsuit is also quite old bought from Topshop when they still had in person shops (but Shoezone is still going???), but similar ones are here. Also, because I’m boring and I’ve formed an emotional attachment to them, I’m wearing the same shoes again.

Day Four
An entire outfit built from Topshop again. Both the top and trousers again are really dated, but there are thousands of variations of these trousers that you can find literally anywhere, but here’s a start. I can’t find any really similar tops for the one in the photo, but one of my favourite websites reliked usually has a lot of tops in that look quite similar but are cheaper because they’re second hand. Again, same shoes!

Day Five
I’ll straight up admit it now, I’ve got the same shoes on because I’m incredibly boring. The top is a new addition and it comes from Monki, and they do so many stripey top variations. They’re also very, very soft. The jeans are from Levi, and admittedly the holes in the knees weren’t there to begin with. They came from the men’s section, and whilst I can’t pinpoint the exact pair, they are the original 501s and here are a nice selection if you want some.

Day Six
Day six saw me into my 22nd birthday, and featured two outfits! I started off with a little cute outfit to go and find a birthday cake from ASDA (which my lovely house mate Lucie bought for me), and I wore the same jeans and shoes from the day before. I wore a little matching cardigan and top that was a present from my mum (thank you mum!), and both the top and cardigan were so soft. The second outfit was potentially one of the best outfits I’ve ever worn in my entire life, and I’ve also never had so many compliments. The boots were my favourite part, but what I will say is that I’ve only worn them thrice, and every time involved me falling down a flight of stairs (oops!). The dress was also very cute and comfy, although a little on the short side.

Day Seven
Today resulted in a lot of chicken nuggets, a dressing gown and the cardigan from the day before. However, I had a nice little loungewear outfit that feels like I’m being wrapped in a blanket, so 100000% recommend buying it. Funnily enough, I didn’t have the same shoes on, but just found a pair of socks to wear instead, but I managed to get the outfit repetition from wearing the same cardigan as the day before.

That’s my week done! I think I had at least two outfits that were slightly out of my comfort zone. Looking at the photos back has made me realise that I should try and push myself out of my comfort clothing bubble — maybe I’ll keep that in mind for a potential part two.
