With deadlines almost out of the way and dissertations being handed-in left, right and centre, its time to celebrate the end of term. This week, there have been lots of socials, Christmas meals and even Sexhibition!
ACS Celebrate Christmas in Style
Join Afrian Caribbean Society in Cribbs on Thursday 7th December from 9:30pm at a party to celebrate the end of the year and to get us ready for Christmas! The theme/dress code is ‘Christmas’, which means get your tinsel ready! Your very own ACS member: DJ Carlo will be providing the music.
RES get crafty!
Renewable Energy Society are hosting a Christmas craft fair in the compass on Thursday 7th December from 11-3. They will be selling a selection of food and handmade decorations. There will also be a tombola with prizes up for grabs! Most profits will go to Surfers Against Sewage.
Join the Generation Wild education team on Friday at 7:30pm in Palacio Lounge for a relaxed evening of drinks, chips and chats! This will be a great opportunity to meet other volunteers, and to wind down after a long Autumn term! There will be prizes for the most Christmas-y outfit, and we will be announcing our new committee members! Generation Wild is a student-led environmental education project.
Last week, they ran a sustainable living workshop for a local school, where the children had the opportunity to plant onion bulbs and make seed bombs. This week they will be making natural christmas crafts with some Cub Scouts, and teaching a local school about British wildlife conservation!
Don’t DisAbility Bake for Carrick Mind
Christmas is the season of giving and Don’t DisAbility Society are hosting an event to do just that. They will be running a bake sale in support of their adopted charity, Carrick Mind, on Monday 12th December from11-2pm in the Compass.
Video Gaming Society ran a 1-2 Switch Tournament
VGSoc hosted a relaxed tournament to end the year on Tuesday 5th December. Concluding with the society’s Events Manager strutting his winning runway walk, it was a night enjoyed by all!
Tolkein & Archery take part in Combat Archery
On Saturday 2nd December Tolkien Society and Archery Society collaborated for a joint event trip to Big Dunk’s Paintball, Outdoor Laser Tag & Combat Archery in Bodmin (http://www.bigdunkspaintball.co.uk/ ) to do Combat Archery!
Stitching Society host festive session
Pop along to the Stitching society’s session on 6th December at 6pm for Christmas music and a relaxed evening to take away from all that deadline stress!
Tremough English Society hold Christmas Jumper Party
Oh the weather outside is frightful, so why not put on some layers and come along at 8pm to Number 20 on Thursday 7th December at 8pm? There will be a prize for the most original festive outfit and the first 15 society members receive a free gift bag. All are welcome!
