It has been a week filled with successes for both Falmouth University and The University of Exeter following the release of The Times and The Sunday Times University League Table 2016.
The new University rankings, published earlier this week, placed Falmouth University as the UK’s top Arts University as well as fifth in the South West and 56th overall. The University of Exeter’s overall ranking remained unchanged, being placed as seventh in the country as well as placing first in the South West and winning the title of The Times and the Sunday Times Sports University of the Year 2015-2016.
According to the Sunday Times’ website, these prestigious rankings measure students’ satisfaction with teach quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications, degree results achieved, student-staff ratios, service and facilities spend and completion rates.
Professor Sir Steve Smith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, speaking on the Sports University of the Year award said: “Exeter is going from strength to strength in all areas of our activity. Our position and our award are both outstanding achievements which recognize the tremendous talent and effort of a wide range of staff and the students on the sports field, in the lecture theatre and in the laboratory. “
“Sport is integral to our ethos, and we’re incredibly proud of our successes. We put our students first, as we do all we can to support them in their education and their sporting endeavors.”
