Vegan Winter Apparel

Written by Melissa Watt |

Vegan fashion has recently been at the forefront of industry innovation, by ensuring that cruelty-free fashion is accessible and luxurious. As the nights grow darker and the cold seeps in, it’s time to swap sunglasses and skirts for layers and comfort. Here are some winter pieces perfect for any vegan wardrobe.

1. Faux Fur Jackets

LFW famously debuted its first fur-free catwalk this season. As more designers and celebrities endorse cruelty-free fashion, faux fur has become an unmissable force in high-street chains. They still feel and look high-end without seriously emptying your pockets. It’s a great piece to add a touch of glamour to any outfit and, of course, no animals were harmed in the making.

2. Satin

Satin is the perfect transitional piece for the approaching colder months. It’s also an affordable, animal-friendly substitute for silk. Satin midi skirts look great paired with oversized jumpers and chunky boots. For upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, satin dresses are set to be a favourite choice in stores.

 3. Chunky Knits

Jumpers are essential for the winter weather and are a great layering piece. They’re also a simple way to add colour to any outfit. Think fluffy, patterned or bold block coloured knits. Non-vegan jumpers are typically made of wool so just double check the inside tag to be sure.

4. Vegan Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens have just expanded their range of premium, vegan-friendly footwear. Made from synthetic leather, they come in a variety of designs and colours. Though on the pricier side, they are a worthy investment, adding an element of edge to any outfit. They’re also notably industrial and well suited for any bouts of snow.

5. Statement Trousers

Statement trousers are here to stay and they’re super easy to wear. They can be dressed up or down, perfect for any date. Print and patterned trousers are great styling pieces, adding some flare to minimal outfits. Animal print, checks, and camo are leading the way through the cold weather.
